Brendon Chiou, DMD, has served as a private practice dentist since 2005. He has worked in two private clinics in that time. The first was an aesthetics-focused practice in the Manhattan borough of New York City, the second, his present practice, is a modern family care clinic offering a diverse selection of dental treatments in Newburyport, Massachusetts. Dr. Chiou holds licenses to practice medicine in New York State, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire, and is certified by the North East Regional Board of Dental Examiners, Inc.
Brendon Chiou began his studies in 1994 at the University of Vermont, in Burlington. There, he completed a Bachelor of Science program in Biological Science. Afterwards, Chiou attended the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. During his time at Tufts, he received numerous awards, scholarships, and accolades, such as the Horace Wells Scholarship, the Dr. Frank Fitzgibbon and Dr. Leo Kiemon Memorial Education Scholarship, the Charles A. Vernale Graduate Scholarship, and the 2004 Tufts University Alumni Clinical Excellence Award in Public Health Dentistry. He earned his doctorate in 2004.
Dr. Chiou then continued to further his knowledge of dentistry with practical experience, completing a yearlong residency at the United States Department of Veterans Affairs? McClellan Dental Clinic in Northern California. He practiced a broad range of techniques during his time there, particularly those related to restorative and aesthetic dentistry such as veneers, removable prosthodontics, and endodontic therapy. Dr. Chiou also completed training in implant placement and restoration, as well as oral and periodontal surgery.
When not working, Dr. Brendon Chiou enjoys a variety of interests. He participates in a wide selection of outdoor activities, including skiing, golf, deep sea and fly-fishing, camping, and mountain biking. Dr. Chiou also enjoys hobbies such as furniture restoration, digital photography, and learning about new electronics and technology.
